Campsite Review: Topaz Lodge Campground is located on Highway 395 just to the north of the California -Nevada Border (on the Nevada side). It is northwest of Topaz Lake and part of the Topaz Casino.
Carson City is forty miles north and South Lake Tahoe is forty miles northwest. The road however to South Lake Tahoe takes much longer to drive because of the twisty narrow mountain roads.
Here is our blog post about our stay in Gardnerville on a previous trip. In 2020 we stayed at the Topaz Lodge RV Park.

Observations
Campsite Review: Topaz Lodge Campground insider info:
This RV park is an extension to the motel at the Topaz Lodge — which is an extension to the casino at Topaz Lodge. This is a small operation just across the state line from California and has a local atmosphere. The views of Topaz Lake from the casino dining room are very nice.
Views of Topaz Lake can be had from the RV park sites #54-59 but are somewhat blocked by the bushes.
Sites #54-59 are a little shorter than sites #48-53 and that may be of concern to largest RVs.
The lower level is preferred to the upper level because it is downhill and thus more shielded from the road noise. The parking locations in the upper level are also on a slope that may cause some RVs to have one side much higher than the other when leveling.
Bonus
Topaz Lake is a pretty playground both on the California and Nevada side.

Lake Tahoe is nearby and close enough for a day trip.
