Campsite Review: Westwind Campground is named the Westwind RV & Golf Resort and is located in Yuma Arizona. It is a very nice first-class place. It is just south of Interstate 8 and east of old town Yuma along the highway.
So far, this is my number one RV park in Yuma. Actually it is my number one RV park so far in our three-year journey. It is big enough to be quiet even though it is along the highway (as are almost all RV parks in Yuma) and has great amenities.
The easiest way to get to Westwind RV & Golf Resort is to exit Interstate 8 and go south on South Fortuna Road then turn west on South Frontage Road. The campground will be on your left. Turn south on Westwind Blvd and proceed between the golf course and the park, past the gate turn right on Roadrunner Drive, and park in one of the ten check-in sites. From there you will follow a golf cart to your site.
This is one RV park that I would consider a long term stay, it is that nice. I don’t say that about 90% of the RV parks we visit.
Overall the park is very large and well-appointed. Some of the RV sites are mixed in between the park model RVs. Some park models were available for sale.
The golf course at Westwind RV & Golf Resort is an inexpensive nine-hole course and has plenty of mature palm trees outlining the fairways. Holes number one and two share the main water feature. There are only a few sand traps. Overall the course is very friendly for beginning golfers.
Westwind RV & Golf Resort has a sister resort the Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort located in El Centro California.

Observations
Campsite Review: Westwind RV & Golf Resort insider info:
Request a location in the southwest corner of the park. This will be further away from the freeway and thus quieter. Also, all sites are the same size and park models take up more room than RVs thus you will be able to walk around your RV if you are among multiple RVs. The park model next door to us built a tall fence right on the property line, which made for a great private patio for them. For us, it meant that our slide was only four inches from the fence. Walking around our RV was not possible.
For long-term stays, this RV park would wonderful with your own golf cart or perhaps an electric bicycle.
The number one location is in the park is at the corner of Sparrow and Amaryllis.
Don’t expect any shade in the parking section of the park, I counted one tree that had the ability to create shade for an RV. Even the golf course could use more trees to provide more shade.
The activities center includes a laundry room and showers. The activities are almost too numerous to mention. Pool and spa, shuffleboard, game room, and 24-hour library.
