Campsite Review: Mountain Valley Campground

Campsite Review: Mountain Valley Campground is located on U.S. Highway 40, just south of Heber City, Utah. It is a very nice place.

Starting in Heber City go south of the main intersection on U.S. Highway 40 for less than one mile and make a right turn into the resort. The reception has room to park four big RVs. After check-in, this is the kind of resort where you follow a golf cart to your spot. Nearly all spots are pull-through and long enough to accommodate any RV configuration.

Mountain Valley RV Resort is in the top three RV parks and is easily one of the nicest RV parks we have ever been to. It has 104 RV parking sites, most are pull-through.  The resort started with 48 sites then added an additional 56 sites and currently expanding again.

Pickle Ball, Dog Parks, Pools, Hot-Tub, Adult only section, Exercise Room, Basketball, Volleyball, and a playground are all here. We didn’t use any of these things due to various reasons but are all part of the price.

Now that I said it may be the nicest RV park we have ever stayed in, I still don’t like RV Parks. They are just not my thing. I far prefer State Parks and other locations. Mountain Valley met our needs in terms of location and full hookups.

Observations

Campsite Review: Mountain Valley Campground insider info:

This place is huge. The pools are very nice. It is paved except for the grassy areas and groomed. Our RV was facing south and had sunshine on the front nearly all day. Thus until a trailer parked next to us, we had a hard time finding enough shade to enjoy the outside area. You can see our car, parked under the tree, next to our RV in the next picture. This orientation is not our favorite.

Road Noise: Very little, train noise = none.

Ample room — Not ample but sufficient. Good stager between RVs. Very simple to maneuver and park.

Pictures show lush green grass next to every sight. This is actually a feature of the cheap spots. The more expensive larger spots are mostly concrete without much grass.

In early October, the weather was ideal.

Bonus

Mountain Valley Campground is all about location. It is far enough south of Park City to be affordable, but an easy drive for sightseeing.

Mountain Valley RV Resort also has two sister resorts in Utah, Grand Plateau RV Resort in Kanab and Spanish Trail RV Park in Moab.
