This selection documents our 2019 Route from Boise to the Oregon Coast and the stops along the way. We departed Boise on October 2, 2019 traveling west across the northern part of Oregon along the Oregon Trail and the Lewis and Clark Trail with our first destination in La Grande. Our primary must see location on the way was La Grande.
After spending September mostly in West Yellowstone, finding that the oncoming winter was closing campgrounds, as we moved south and west, usually right after we departed, we were getting an extended fall with our decrease in altitude. La Grande was the last location on this leg with the real possibility of snow, although Mount Hood was already covered in fresh snow from the first winter storms.
Once in Boring and then to the coast we expected and got more and more rain until several days rain and wind nearly kept us indoors for our entire stay at Fort Stevens State Park.
