Campsite Review: Holly Point Campground, insider info:
All the sites in Holly Point Campground are pretty good. They are all in the trees with good shade. Summer temperatures are hot. In late July, we ran at least one of our air conditioners all day and well into the night.
We had the closest campsite to the water in loop 3 and the water was a long way away. Campsites without electric hookups in loop 5 are closer to the water.
Most campsites are true to sizes identified on the reservation website. Photos on the reservation website were representative of the actual sites.
Most campsites were suitable for any size RV. Campsites in the dry sections were smaller and more sloped.
Caution there is at least one sign identifying a per axle weigh limit on New Light Road from the south. The weight limit is 6.5 tons per axel this equals 26,000 pounds for our six-wheel motorhome. The bridges on this road are not marked with weight limits.
